This is the place to be for enhancing your Jonathan & Kristy trivia… For whatever reason you may have.

If you are reading this then you probably already know that Jonathan & Kristy are currently in Honduras. Yet not everybody may know where their stories began, or the major details of their 28 year journeys that have brought both of them to Siguatepeque, Honduras…

First you will find Jonathan below, with the Lord’s fingerprints every which way his life has turned.

Jonathan grew up in majestic Ojai, Ca. From a young age he enjoyed participating in many diverse activities (church, sports, music, scouts, etc). Throughout his up-bringing Jonathan continued to grow in the matters of  faith and life through an incredible family base of love and support.

When the time came Jonathan would choose to attend the University of California, Davis. He began his college journey studying physics, but would end up with a double major in music. His non-academic life was spent playing sports, and in the healthy/faithful Christian community of the Christ-centered fraternity ΑΓΩ (alpha gamma omega).

During these years Jonathan also began his involvement with IMPACT, a Presbytery of Santa Barbara missions organization. He would end up going to various places in the world, but Honduras would eventually capture his heart… Well, in more ways than one. For while Jonathan has returned to Honduras numerous times after his first visit in 2002 to work with what he found to be an impressive ministry in Union Biblica,  he is most gracious for Honduras (through IMPACT) introducing him to his life’s love Kristy [then] Cherrie.

Upon completing his final year at Davis in 2005 Jonathan choose to spend one year away from academics before attending Princeton Theological Seminary. In the meantime Kristy had also decided upon Princeton Theological Seminary, and so the two left for the East coast in the fall of 2006. Over the Thanksgiving holdiay of that year Jonathan proposed to Kristy on top the mountains overlooking their hometowns in California. They would marry the following August.

Jonathan and Kristy shared many great adventures together and with friends over the course of completing the M.Div. program. Yet as they recieved their masters in June of 2009, they had to say good-bye to a place they had grown to love and to friends they would always have.

Yet they would not yet leave the East. Starting Starting in May of 2009 Jonathan went on staff at Langhorne Presbyterian Church (where they had spent the previous year in field education), and they moved to the quiet (dripping with sarcasm) Philly suburb of Bensalem. Over the next 8 months Jonathan (officially titled: Pastor’s Assistant) could not have created better conditions, nor could he have asked for better people, to work with and to continue to learn from. This time provided him the opportunity for key growth in his pastoral identity.

Yet Jonathan and Kristy’s time in Langhorne, and on the East coast, would finally come to close come Christmas of 2009. While singing “I’ll be home for Christmas, you can count on me…” they braved two snow storms in a U-Haul while pulling their car to make it home by the 23rd. Four short weeks later, they were off again… To spend a year in Honduras.
